Setback for Peter Obi as Tribunal dismisses his request to interrogate INEC

  The Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) sitting in Abuja, has dismissed an application the candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, filed for permission to interrogate the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on the technology it deployed for the conduct of the general elections. Obi and LP are petitioners in the petition marked CA/PEPC/03/2023, challenging the election which brought President Bola Ahmed Tinubu into power. Respondents are INEC, Mr. Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and the All Progressives Congress (APC). Declaring the session open at 10.59 am, the President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan said that the session was a special one against the backdrop that it would be used by the Senators to make remarks on the journey that started on 11th June 2019 and ended today, Saturday, June 10, 2023.
